CMP 80 Round Across the Course

Miami Rifle & Pistol Club has a long a storied history of hosting Highpower Rifle matches.
Each year, we continue to host matches sanctioned by the Civilian Marksmanship Program.  For match dates, please see the MRPC calendar.

ELIGIBILITY:
Open per current Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) rules.  Individuals who have not previously fired in either CMP or NRA Highpower Rifle competitions are encouraged to complete a MRPC Highpower Rifle Clinic before firing a CMP Highpower event at MRPC.  Contact Mark Dorger (markdorger@fuse.net) for dates and times.  Shooting in a Navy, Sporter, or Wednesday League match is also good preparation for shooting in a sanctioned match.  For more information regarding the Navy, Sporter, or Wednesday League matches, select from the disciplines menu above.

RULES:
These matches follow the CMP Highpower Rifle Standard Course format.  CMP Competition Rules will apply.  It is the competitor’s responsibility to be familiar with all rules therein.  CMP Highpower Rifle Competition Rules (2026), 29th Edition is available online (http://thecmp.org/competitions/cmp-competitions-rulebooks/).

CLASSIFICATION:
Competitors will compete based on their CMP classification.  If a competitor does not have a CMP classification, a current NRA Highpower classification may be used until a CMP classification is earned.  Unclassified competitors (either CMP or NRA) will compete in the Master class for their first match.

ENTRY FEE:
Adult Members $20, Adult Non-Members 25$, Juniors $10.  Cash or check.

REGISTRATION AND SQUADDING:
8:00 AM to 8:30 AM at MRPC clubhouse.  Firing will begin at 9:00 AM.

SCORING AND PIT OPERATION:
Competitors will shoot, score, and pull targets in a three or four relay format on their assigned firing point.

ELECTRONIC TARGETS:
MRPC will transition to ShotMarker electronic targets in 2026.  Please bring your Wi-Fi-enabled tablet or device for use with the targets.  ShotMarker is compatible with any phone or tablet with a web browser.

CHALLENGES:
A $3.00 fee is required in advance for each challenge.

MATCH SCHEDULE:
CMP Highpower Rifle Standard Course as described in Table 5 of the CMP Highpower Rifle Competition Rules (2026) 29th Edition.

• Match 1 – 200 yds, slow fire, standing, 2 sighting shots and 20 record shots, 22 min.
• Match 2 – 200 yds, rapid fire, sitting or kneeling, 2 sighting shots and 2 series of 10 shots, 60 sec. per series.
• Match 3 – 300 yds, rapid fire, prone, 2 sighting shots and 2 series of 10 shots, 70 sec. per series.
• Match 4 – 600 yds, slow fire, prone, 2 sighting shots and 20 record shots, 22 min.
• Match 5 – Aggregate of scores fired in Matches 1-4.

RIFLES:
The Matches are fired with Service Rifles (Rule 4.1.1, 4.1.3, 4.1.4), Alternative Rifles (Rule 4.1.2), Match Rifles (Rule 4.1.5), or Long-Range Service Rifles (Rule 4.1.6).

AMMUNITION:
Competitors must supply their own safe ammunition.  No tracer, armor piercing, or incendiary-type ammunition or projectiles may be used.

AWARDS:
Cash awards to match winners in Matches 1-5.  Additional place awards in classes for every five competitors registered.  Classes with fewer than five competitors will be combined with the next higher class.  No competitor will receive more than one award in any match.  Cash awards not collected will be donated to the Miami Rifle & Pistol Club.
